Résumé
A joint project by Canadian and Latin American researchers has found surprisingly similar patterns of geographically imbalanced rural development in both parts of the Western hemisphere. The path breaking work of the teams from the Canadian Rural Economy Laboratory (C-RERL) at the University of Saskatchewan, and Rimisp-Latin American Center for Rural Development (based in Santiago, Chile) is supported by Canada's International Development Research Center (IDRC). Their joint work offers new insights that will allow policy makers to identify regions that would benefit from targeted investments.
